Our history
Family environment with garden, swimming pool
The Antica Trattoria Bacco was founded in 1994 by father Vincenzo and mother Carmela who, due to
their love fortradition, decided to open a small trattoria with about 15 seats where the gastronomy offered
was extremely homemade. The protagonists for a lunch/dinner with a typical Sannita Circello flavour were
local cured meats, pasta and beans, cavatelli, rabbit meat, lamb, pigeons and local desserts.
After thirty years the taste, the dishes, the family welcome and the authenticity of the products have not
changed. Indeed we have enriched our menus without distancing ourselves from Sannita tradition.
Characterized by family management, The Antica Trattoria Bacco offers a warm, relaxing, peaceful
welcome, "in short, we want each of our customers to feel at home". The location on the hill, the
temperate climate, the rich and shady vegetation allow holidaymakers to spend away from the heat of the
city the summer period or to take some quiet days and refresh yourself with the precious local cuisine.
Long walks in the woods, which surround the country, they give the opportunity to known the area.
Our philosophy is to welcome the guest to Circello, a small village in Alto Sannio, museum in open sky,
home of Sannita's culture and traditions, with simple and authentic hospitality, a place whose complete
and refined charm is given by the love for the land and for those who had passed it down.
Circello is a village dating back to 180 BC where history can still be felt in the air. A country where
hospitality, nature, well-being, tradition predominates. A village where you can discover the origins of the
Ligurian Bebiani, a civilization that was deported by the Roman generals Bebio and Cornelius because
they were considered too hostile to the empire. From these two Roman generals the Liguri Bebiani located
in Circello and the Liguri Corneliani took their names. An itinerary full of history from the Castle with its
stronghold of Norman origin with Lombard reconstruction and its alleys that wind around it to an
ecclesiastical heritage dating back to 1100 AC.

The traditional dishes have been revisited in a simple way, preserving the flavors of the past
The intense flavors of the Circella cuisine are offered by us in various menus, with a vast possibility of
choice. The long and serious experience of our chef Mamma Carmela allows us to satisfy everyone's
needs, guaranteeing a careful selection of raw materials and attention to combine them.
Our specialties are Pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle, Tagliatelle with wild boar ragù,
Cavatelli in small pan, Scialatielli with Scarpariello, steak slices with rocket and grana, steak of
Marchigiana, grilled meat, lamb... Let's not forget our hot and cold appetizers, cheeses, pickles, and
above all fish cooked in a simple way to ensure the freshness of the product, in fact you can find it from
Thursday to Sunday. Our Master Pizzaiolo Nicola with a wood-fired oven located in the dining room will
delight you with Traditional, Gourmet and Pizza by the meter pizzas.
A typical Sannite cuisine characterizes this trattoria which has an exceptional quality/price. Dishes are
served in a typical restaurant with a fireplace made of hand-modelled and welcoming bricks, they will
ensure you have an excellent and lasting memory of this place. Our typical cuisine is renowned and each
dish is prepared following the most ancient traditions. It is possible at the end meal or in the morning for
breakfast, enjoy our seasonal desserts prepared daily by Mariacristina.
Rooms
The Antica Trattoria Bacco B&B, ideal for overnight stays or even for longer or shorter pensions, offers its customers an exclusive hospitality service. It is located in the greenery of the Samnite hills among olive trees and oaks with a splendid panorama in a quiet village in the Sannite Campania near many small centers of historical, cultural and gastronomic interest.
The ten rooms are new with a final renovation in
2022-2023; welcoming, very functional and above all attentive to energy and water saving. They are
located on the upper floor and are accessible from inside, they have an exit to the garden that leads to
the swimming pool. They are equipped with all comforts, TV, telephone, air conditioning on request,
bathroom, heating and wireless internet access. The daily tidying and cleaning service allows you to
always feel at ease with the possibility of adopting relaxing rhythms during short stays and optimizing
times as best as possible in the case of longer stays.
Room service on request and it is possible to add cots.
At the end of the corridor that serves as the entrance to the rooms there is a covered terrace where there
is table tennis and BALILLA football, ideal for spending some time on gloomy days or while mum gets
ready.
The garden and the smimming pool
200mq of garden’s area, it is full of fruit and ornamental trees. The relaxing path leads to the children's play area where there is a swing and a slide. Continuing further you find yourself under a roof where there is a wood oven for the evening pizzeria in the pool. There is a panoramic terrace where you can see the hills and the Sannita countryside as well as the avenue and the castle of our village.

The renovated swimming pool measures 13 by 6 metres, with a single height for the safety of children. The swimming pool is equipped with a waterfall and hydromassage corner. You can take advantage of the tables where you can relax and have an aperitif and perhaps an ice cream thanks to the presence of a small, fully equipped American Bar. The very nice outdoor restaurant in the garden also opens in summer, not to mention the outdoor pizzeria very charming with tables among green plants. We also organize events, theme evenings, and unique experiences such as dining under the century-old oaks which are located in the part of the garden adjacent to the swimming pool.

We spent a wonderful day in the pool among the greenery and with a Beautiful view. The pool is open from 9.30 to 19.00, so you really have plenty of time for it to chill out. Really very quiet place, located in the village, but it's as if it weren't like that. The staff is very kind and helpful in everything, we made several requests and they were all accepted. There is also the possibility of ordering lunch directly at the facility. I recommend it to you.
